    sort of OT--number of posts

Just got curious. I know I'm not a prolific poster but sure thought I had done more than 143. Did a search and found out that the Posts counter in the upper right hand corner has been sitting on 143 since last November and probably further back--just stopped checking. Oh well, never did think I counted for much! Earl

And it moved to 145 with that one.

The post counter is just that, a counter. Not a "post number": if you find the very first post you ever made, it will now show '145'.

(And before you ask, yes, avatars and signatures work the same way.)

I don't know about this forum; but on some that I visit, you only get a mark for the first post that you make to a thread. Make 5 or 6 responses to the same thread and your counter still increments by only 1.

The counter is the total number of new posts or replies to a post that you have made...

If you now look at the old threads, they will have been updated with the current number. The number is dynamic and changes with each time you make a post Same with your signature
