Replacement handle for a #2 Stanley plane

    Hello Guys...............

A friend of mine recently purchased a #2 stanley plane which he needs to replace the rear handle on. I have been told that there are some people around making replica handles - one name has come up a David Burnham.
I cant seem to locate him - anyone know of this gentleman or someone else who makes replacement handles.?

    Thankyou

I don't know anything about David, but Mike taylor, in Katy, Texas, makes some beautiful replacement totes, at reasonable prices. Email him at planewood@sbcglobal.net or visit his web page at http://pages.sbcglobal.net/mike_in_k...od/Default.htm

    Hope this helps.

Yep. I just read that too. Bummer

  5. Mike's announcment was on FWW's site. He will still be doing some, but they are all set to go traveling for a while.

    Take care, Mike

While it takes some time, it's not too difficult to make a handle for a plane. It is easier if you have one to use as a template but you can generally figure out the size and shape from measurement of the space and the rod that holds it in.

Hello Guys - thankyou for the info - I have passed on the information to my friend & he will try and contact Mike before he trys to source the tote from another source. I may well have to come back again if Mike has no supply of #2 rear totes...........so any other ideas would be very welcome.

Thanks for all the info and help - much appreciated.
