    Sketchup and scaling

I've been using Visio for some time and like it alot. Now I found Sketchup for 3D and have a very basic question. I've used the tutorials and it seems quite easy to use - so far. I have downloaded the component files and see that kitchen cabinets are scaled correctly, etc, etc. When I draw a rectangle or whatever the dimensions are 79 feet or 105 feet etc. When I draw a rectangular as an example, type in the dims I want 26"x36" I can't even see the box.

Will some one please enlighten me on this question?

Mike, SketchUp was originally developed as a tool for architects. Thus the default view is zoomed to allow a building to fit in the view space. Search through the Design forum and look through my posts regarding setting up a template. You can set a template that SU will start with that gives a view space that is more appropriate to a cabinet or whatever. This is a simple thing to do and won't take much time.

    Enjoy SketchUp.
