Slipping further down the slope ...

I made some wainscotting for a friend and received a woodworking book as payment. I thought that was great. Seems that was just partial payment. I received this gift in yesterdays mail. Seems I'm now a card carrying member.

I think I'm also getting a subscription to Wood Turning Design! I still find it hard to believe I got paid at all!!

You did say he was a friend. That is a very thoughtful gift.

Better than thoughtful! Great magazine is just the icing on the cake...the AAW does a lot of good things for our craft. Do check out your local chapter if there is one reasonably close to you. The meetings are great and you'll find a lot of great mentors, too.

Better than you??? Hard to believe.
Yes, attending a local meeting is on my todo list - just a couple more weeks.

    Nice friend !

Very thoughtful friend you have to nudge you a little farther down the slope. Sounds like you did something nice for him as well. Good Kharma there!

I'd say that that is better than being paid Dave. Nice Gift. Congratulations!

Cultivate that friendship, David. It's a keeper.

Ya know..... when it comes to this whole abyss thing, I'm intrigued by the subtle nuances and differences between the terms slipped, pushed, nudged, jumped, and sacrifice to the gods.
