Give me until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week and I'll let you know. I'm going to test spray some inlayed cherry/walnut to see how I like the color.

Yes. I don't prefer it. I use shellac as both a barrier coat over dye and to bring out the clarity in the wood. I found the Target product to be inappropriate for the first use (water borne over water soluble does not a good situation make sometimes) and didn't find it had the look (clarity and shimmer) of traditional shellac for the second. (I used it as a toner on my armoire project)

The most expensive tool is the one you buy "cheaply" and often...
Matt, like Jim I tried it quite some time ago and was not happy with the results. When I first received the product, I found clumps in the material after stiring. I passed it thru a fine mesh filter removing the debris.
I have since gone back to good old alcahol shellac. I guess the old saying if it works don't mess with it really fits here.
My last shipment of shellac flake was a disappointment also, it came in a lump and I had to use a hammer to break it up. Have to search for a better supplier I guess.
Good Luck:
