Hinge selection for large swinging closet/wardrobe doors. What should I use?

My closet/wardrobe door build planning continues, now I'm on to hinge selection. My 4 closet cabinets are 48" wide and 84" tall, so I'm building 2 doors for each cabinet, 8 doors total. The doors will be made from Poplar and 1/4" MDF panels and painted. The doors will be 1.25" thick, and nearly full overlay on a frameless cabinet. My plan all along has been to use 4 Blum soft close hinges on each door. Reading up on the weight ratings for the Blum hinges, I see they won't work with doors over 1.188". Is there a hinge that will do overlay on a frameless cabinet with a 1.25" door? If not, I may have to cut my door thickness back to 1.188".

I think Hettich has a thick door cup hinge which will handle a 40mm thick door. That's 1.5".

What's wrong with butt hinges? You are basically building house passage doors.
