    James, every piece of apple I turned ended up splitting. Granted, I haven't turned that much apple but so far it's been unanimous! And, that's a shame because the character of the wood is often very beautiful. As someone else said, I don't have much faith in moisture meters. Good luck with you pins!

    It flexed when you were sanding it? Ease up a little, you don't have to sand that hard!!!
