I'm evaluating finishing options for an upcoming table project that will be mahogany and maple. The mahogany will be dyed/stained, some process to make it a deeper, redder color than the bland orange brown that it now is. Over some of those dye/stains, EM-8000CV looks great. But over the white hard maple it has a very unappealing yellow hue. I haven't tried spraying it with Sealcoat shellac first, and that might help. But another option might be to add a few drops of one of the reddish Transtint dyes to the EM-8000CV to get rid of the yellow.

Has anyone used TT in EM-8000CV for any reason? Also, has anyone found a way to eliminate the yellow hue that EM-8000CV imparts to light colored woods like maple?

Thanks,

John
