Finally have a way to bring water to my shop!

    Hey gang!

I have been noodling on a way to have a "sink" in my shop that does not have running water. I got tired of having to walk down to the house (no small task in the icy winter weather up here..) every time I need to wash my hands, a dish, or a brush, etc. We also camp a bunch and cooking over a campfire can be a dirty job, so I wanted it easily transportable. I had an idea and decided to make a video of it. It can all collapse down into a 5 gallon bucket and you can take it with you.

I will probably iterate it over time. I am thinking of maybe using a windshield wiper motor & tank with a mat switch to actuate it. We will see.

I hope this could help others that could use a little running water in the shop.

Great idea and execution. Per our chat, there's a lot of flexibility with this, too...thanks for posting the video here at SMC!

I bought the Igloo 5 gallon hand wash station for twenty bucks at grocery outlet.

Instead of the cup holder it has a clip on little plastic box thingy that can hold a bar or pump of soap.

Anyone else remember the old car windshield squirters that had a rubber bulb under your foot? Or the VW's that used the spare tire air to pump water.

Anybody remember the Red Skelton bit where he plays a hobo?

He has a sink with a reservoir above, and one below that the water drains into.

After washing, he takes the water below and puts it back above, saying that once it gets broken in, he hates to waste it.

Remember a rich man is just a poor man with money.
