    Staining Baltic Brich end grain

I have an upcoming project, of laminated baltic birch plywood (the real BB not the Home Depot stuff)

My preference is to use analine dies, which in the past have given rich vibrant colors - this one will likely be red.
My concern is the amount of glue in BB, which might prevent stain from sinking in properly.

    Does anyone have experience?
(I did surf the web, but all I found was clear finishes)

    thanks
    Olaf

Do a test piece...I suspect that you'll find things satisfactory if you are buying "the good stuff", because the layers are thick and even.

Well, it is still going to look like plywood. The end grain is a different color from the face grain, even with dye on it.
