Those types of tanks have a shutoff valve that has the Schraeder valve built into it. You see the red thing around the Schraeder (fill valve). It twists to shutoff the air to the flex hose. Twist it out to fill or use, twist it in to store. I have a tank from my autocrossing days that holds most of the pressure if you close the valve.
