    Bar cabinet, shot glass cabinet

I’m in a pickle as I found out how expensive the glass was going to be in this cabinet. The opening is roughly 30”x30”. I’m thinking cut the soace vertically in half and do shot glasses on one side, but what on the other?

    I’ll take a quick picture…

In the past few years, the cost of glass has gone up quite a bit. I'm not really sure why.

The exact same reason that gasoline, food, lumber, an Uber ride, booze, and practically everything else has gone up.

    Try these guys: https://www.onedayglass.com/

I ordered from them multiple times. Glass makes it to me un-broken. I was just curious, and you didn't post the thickness, but I did 1/4" clear tempered glass 2.5 wide x 35 long, and had all 4 edges ground flat, since I wasn't sure if you were framing them or using as shelves. $192 with free delivery via FedEx ground. Hope this helps. I have even ordered

    Tempered Glass
    Shape: Square/Rectangle
    Thickness: 1/4"
    Tint: Clear
    Edgework: Flat Grind All Edges

    Width: 2 1/2"
    Height: 35"

Because of the length it was 3/8.

I’m not much of a shot glass collector, but my Dwight’s r brought me some from Hawaii and thought I’d put shot classes the cabinet. I’m trying to decide what to do with that space without the lengths.

When I see large sgphirt glass cabinets online, they seem to be kinda boring..

    maybe vintage beer cans?

I changed the thickness on their web site to 3/8 and it did go up to $312, but that is still 1/2 the price you were quoted.

Wow! Even up here in the frozen north that would be ultra expensive. Get some more quotes.

I wouldn’t pay $312 for the glass. I’ll just work out other options.l

100% understand that you will go with another option - but at least in the future, you and others have a good source for glass vs the local place that charges a double.

In this scenario, can you go with a thinner glass with some type of support pins, say every 12 inches? That might let you go with a 3/16 glass or something more cost effective.

The were higher because they outsourced it. They didn’t have these products in house.
