    Wine Box

    I built a little wine box this holiday, thanks to the post and suggestion from Derek Cohen.
    I decided to try a slightly different latching system than the more traditional tapered wedge you see on most lids of this style. (no pieces to lose)
    I think it came out okay for a "proof of concept" type of build, I'll most likely make some more, albeit a bit more refined.
    The wood is what was handy around the shop, Laser is from my Laserpecker LP1 pro

    Nice idea! If you make more please post pics...................would like to see how the box opens.

    Turn the latch and slide

    The pivots acts like a cam, horizontal is open, vertical is closed

    Thanks, I originally envisioned having two latches, one or either side, that would mimic a bottle opener when used.

    I'll be refining the design and fit/finish as I go.
