I can't get the color I need in a oil based wiping stain from any General Finishes vendor but I can get a perfect match using an Old Masters wiping stain. Does anyone for see a problem with using Arm-R Seal after the stain has dried?

Once the binder in the stain is cured, I doubt there will be any issue with using the oil based Arm-R-Seal over it. If you're really concerned, you can always use a barrier coat of wax free shellac to be sure, but I really don't feel it's needed.

The most expensive tool is the one you buy "cheaply" and often...
OB over OB is perfectly fine but, as Jim said, make sure the stain has dried well before applying the ARS.

Kind of what I thought but I wanted to draw on the experiences of this fine group. Thank you.
