Thread: Is Vermont Castings still a good stove?

    I out a Vermont Castings wood stove (with catalyst) into the "walk in" fireplace at the old property back in the early 200s. It was a good unit, although we used it rarely, especially once there was a whole house generator in place. Like anything, things do change over time with brands, so it's not surprising to me to see the dialog here.

    have 30 years on a waterford trinity but its done its time. Past remember a friends Blaze King. Largest model. he put a log in we went for lunch talked for a long time came home and the log was still there glowing red. Well insulted home you open the door and a wall of heat heats you. I cost a lot from memory 4k about 25 years ago. That was the most efficient stove ive ever seen.

    I think burning silver maple right now and my stove is inhaling it.
