    Lee valley replica honing guide

I don't normally use honing guides, and normally sharpen free hand, but in order to get free shipping on a recent Lee valley order I decided to add this.

It is a replica of the Stanley no 50, and it's very simple to use. It has a bar built in that measure the angle like some of the jigs people make for other honing guides, and it locks down the plane blades I've sharpened with it no problem. There is a slot that helps keep the blade aligned and the roller is barreled so you can camber edges and it helps it from being skewed

As far as I know it will ONLY sharpen plane blades that are slotted to accept a chip breaker.

Overall, I really like the simplicity of it. It's been a no fuss solution that's more accurate than freehand but doesn't slow me down much

I have one also. Fun to use and a really clever design in it's simplicity.
