    "King Nammu's Decanter"

    "King Nammu's Decanter"
This piece is made from Padauk, Canarywood and African Blackwood. After turning the hollow form, 32 flutes were hand carved into the main body of the piece. The pour spout is made from two pieces that were carved out all the way through so you can pour liquid from this vessel. The finished size of the piece is 8" x 12" x 18" The final finish on the wood is Deft sanding sealer.

Another example in the, "Do I try to learn more or throw my lathe into the dump" category!
That is really a beautiful and even, mind-boggling, piece. Thanks for including the construction information.
    Well done!

    Thank you Robert.

I'm feeling very blessed today, I was contacted by Dave and Karen Long about the purchases of my latest piece "King Nammu's Decanter" and my first decanter "Nebuchadnezzar's Coffee Decanter" The Longs have been collecting wood art for over 40 years. Dave said We're not adding many pieces to our collection these days. Their collection currently comprises 350 pieces by 161 artists from nine countries. I will now have three of my art pieces in their outstanding art collection in their home gallery.
