    Unobtanium

I will soon start to make a coffee table for a friend. We are enthused by a beautiful piece I saw on the internet. I think the edge bevel needs a thick board, 1 1/4" to 1 1/2", to show it to advantage. I did not think I had one and did not think I could afford one, but I found 2 suitable cherry among several from the early 1990s when we lived in PA. The vertical board on the right has a tag reading $12 and a wider one I haven't yet muscled off the rack. was $15.

To bad you are not in Pa, I have some live edge cherry slabs.

You're fortunate, PA has nice cherry. I'm just over the border in NJ and it's near impossible to find decent cherry locally. It grows pretty twisted here.
