    Luthiers Mercantile closing up

Just an FYI, if you're not on their email list. Founder is retiring and they're shutting down. Bummer.

Looks like some good deals if there's something that strikes your fancy.

Oh no! They've been a wonderful supplier for many decades now.

Yea, there's a thread on TDPRI lamenting this, too. I never purchased from them but many folks have always spoken well of the company.

I used to buy some stuff from them but my last order was in 2018. Lately they either haven't had what I wanted or someone else had it at a better price.

My first purchase from them was around 1984; bought some Redwood for a guitar top and some abalone for inlay. I've been buying from them ever since, hate to see them go away.

I too was an early customer of theirs and would visit there shop when in Sonoma County. Later, I began gathering and milling my own reclaimed woods here in Oregon. - Dave

I like the TRS series single acting truss rods from LMI because they fit in the narrowest slot and have the narrowest nut. I hope they remain available. All of my neck tooling is for the TRS rods.

I waffled on about the virtues of a thin slot and tidy truss rod install on the mandolin forum. It earned me no creditability whatsoever ever.
