    Hammer Museum

Well I am not alone who loves hammers!

Few weeks back we were on a road trip in Yukon.
On our way to Skagway, we visited Haines. Haines is a small town in Alaska, bordering Yukon.

In Haines, our ferry to Skagway was delayed. Decided to roam around, and found The Hammer Museum.
I have not seen anything of this sort before. I think i need more hammers now

    Some photos:

Some 40 photos at https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...pYVFdVUlItbV9n [google photo link]
There were too many photos to upload one by one.
Mods, that's my personal album. Let me know if link is not allowed.

Was able to grab a signed copy (by museum founder I think) of book as well at the museum. Book has photos of various hammers in the museum.

    What book?

I bought a copy of https://www.amazon.com/hammer-king-t...ustomerReviews years ago when it didn't have an astronomical price. An interesting claim in that book is that the bell faced hammer is an USA invention.

Don't see it on sale online anywhere. Cost was $40 as far as I remember.

Thanks. The alpine hammer was always pretty much a collectors item. Hand issues from years of physical work has been the main factor leading to retiring from climbing- gripping the rope. Still get to the gym once in a while, and am passing on some gear to a younger generation.
