Old planer blade remade as scraper?

I was googling what to do with old planer blades and came across this video of a very wide scraper.
I cannot copy and paste just the video content so here's a link, it's on Reddit, a site I am not very familiar with.

    Very soothing.
I also found a 2009 Creek thread on this topic, with lots of suggestions.

How about making a drawer knife of sorts? Maybe HSS is too brittle?
I guess they could be made into scrapers like the StewMac scraper? What would the minimum thickness need to be?
