    Door on jewelry case

Hi all, building a free standing jewelry case that will have swing doors on either side of a set of drawers. The door is approximately 26" tall by 14" wide and will be about 2 1/2" deep. It ill be used to hang necklaces. The major material of the case is mesquite, and the doors will have a mesquite frame 3/4 material and a panel. Due to potential wood movement, I am thinking of using 1/2" baltic birch for the core and resawing some of the mesquite to 1/8" and gluing on either side to make the panel 3/4' thick, The panel will be inset to the frame approximately 1/8 to 1/4' (not decided yet) Does seem like a good approach or would you just go with the solid wood since the width is only 14"? TIA

Mesquite has a very small expansion/contraction with changes in humidity. I'd just use the solid lumber.

My vote is also to use solid material. Doubt it will ever matter....

Could you make the panel with a little expansion room like a panel door? Maybe with spacer ball to stabilize it?
