    Rangate vs Whitehill cutters

I was looking at a youtube video and came across Rangate cutter bodies. I have now purchased two different heads (combi and cone) from Whitehill. I'm definitely impressed with the quality.

When I went to the Rangate website for their adjustable groover. I compared Rangate to Whitehill (160 mm dia, 8 mm to 14 mm for Whitehill / 8 mm to 15.5 mm for Rangate). Whitehill = $310 and Rangate $470.

Are there differences between the two? What makes Rangate better / worth more money? Is the extra 1.5 mm of width where the price difference comes from?

have you looked at how they are adjusted. Some have an adjustment mechanism that twists to change cutter thickness others are two halves with shims placed in the middle. I run Amana two piece adjustable groovers that work great for me. Both of the companies you are comparing have top drawer tooling.
