    Agree with this.
    The reason you want to err to the side of a little more glue is because the end grain plies will want to suck up more glue than the long grain plies and you want to avoid a glue starved joint.

    Correct - that's why I will use thinned glue as a sizing.
    When I started woodworking, I didn't know squat. I have progressed in 30 years - now I do know squat.
