I do my own designs and use the highly scientific "back of a napkin" to scratch paper to SketchUp migration. SketchUp is a godsend for me since I don't really have much natural artistic skill. SketchUp lets me stretch dimensions, vary size relationships and so forth until I get that "ah-ha" moment where I like what I see. I am like the photographer who takes 1000 pictures to get a good one. From the baseline SU drawing I can build out joinery, test structural approaches and so on. Quadrille works too
