    HoneyLocust Platter

I had this (honey locust IMO) in the garage for at least 25 years so decide to make a platter. It is about 12” and ¾”. The gain pattern was not (to me) that visible before turning and I did not expect it to have this grain. I “remade the board to show original what I am guessing now was the branch section close to the main truck. Finished with three coats of tried and true oil.

Part of the fun in turning is that we get surprised and pleasantly so. That is a beautiful grain pattern that you revealed.

That grain looks sort of 3D, like rippling sand on the beach. I like honey locust. Nicely done!
    Best Regards, Maurice
