    Can Anyone Identify?

I was organizing and uncovered the attachment wrapped in cellophane which includes two router bits. No paperwork so can not identify its proper use. Your assistance is appreciated.

    Thanks, David W

It’s hard to see what’s in the bag. Can you pull them out and take another pic?

You gotta show and tell us more to be of any help.

open the bags , remove and show us the bits.

Are the solid wood pieces part of the kit , or just something you had lying around ?

    1) It is possible the kit is a rudimentary spline making kit.

    2) The two dark pieces of wood were part of the kit - potentially for making splines.

    3) The two router bits are potentially for cutting (such as on a box) where spines would be inserted

    4) Have attached two more photos showing the “sled” potentially used to cut splines

Assume the slots in the mdf are 1/4” - same as the bits’ shank ?

The bits do not fit in the slots. I tried, but definitely not enough space for the bits to rotate.

The slots are at an angle si I assume they are for cutting the splines on a table saw.

But that begs the question of how to cut slots with the dovetail bits using the jig.

Which is why I inquired why anyone has this jig. I cannot conceive how the pieces work to obtain the anticipated results.

THANKS to all for the conjectures and assistance.

True, but they have bearings, so are likely designed for a specific application.

OP David, are you asking about the wood parts as well as the router bits and how they might work together?
    Best Regards, Maurice
