Bill, members can list their location in their profile settings if they chose to, but it is not a requirement.

My location is real, but it has been under water since 1936. It's more of a memorial location. No one seems to care.
There might be more interest if I put up a location of good spring break partys in Florida. Whatwill ittake for people around here to care about my location?
As Bill states, knowing ones location can yield better responses from forum members. Local lumber yards, good sources, bad sources, etc. Those who do not list at least general locations just get poorer responses in some instances. Their choice.
