    Japanese Plum Wood

I was lucky enough to have a friend reach out to me and ask if I wanted some fresh cut Japanese Plum wood. Of course I said yes! I love turning it, I still have some squirrelled away from a neighbours tree from 15 years ago. It turns out there was quite a lot of rot but I still believe I will get some nice pieces maybe even a few spoon blanks from the thinner pieces. The blanks I cut now have the end grain sealed and I am hoping to turn a small crotch bowl tomorrow.

I think this equates nicely to wood turning as well . . . . .

Thats super cool! I wish the moss could be incorporated into the finished product.
