I’m making a pair of cedar keepsake boxes for a friend’s kids. Box dimensions will be 24”Wx14”Dx10”H. I was planning on using Horton stop hinges (https://www.horton-brasses.com/PB-403.asp). Assuming I use a 1/4” thick inset top for the lid to keep weight reasonable and use extra long screws for the hinges, does anyone see an issue with that setup? Or do I need to come up with a more durable hinge solution?
