Just FYI, Benchcrafted did a limited run of carver's vises and they are available today. I ordered and am looking forward to the build.

I've started building this. If I don't mangle this lovely piece of heartwood pecan I'll try to document the process.

Got it cut into its piece. I couldn't quite get 2.5" thick so I used a little walnut for the face of the vise jaws.

Got a little further along. Lots of chopping for the base:

dovetails turned out serviceable:

Make sure you read the instructions carefully and realize where the side rails go, plowed this groove too wide. Not sure if its a problem in practice yet.

Loose shot of the final assembly:

At this point its really just down to some final smoothing and getting the hardware attached.
Looking good. I almost bought one just because. I don't have a need.
Finished it up this past weekend:

Very nice!!!
Did anyone buy one and change their mind? I might be interested in yours if so.
Hey Matthew, I tried to find a way to private message you, but couldn't find a way. This is in regards to a post you had last year about your Lamello Zeta P2. I saw that you were possibly interested in selling it and was wondering if you were still thinking about it. I'm in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, not sure where you were in VA, but thought it was worth a shot. Thanks.
