It is kind of tempting to me, but it is a bit large for any of my work. Someone who does timber framing would probably love this.

If I had a use in my work it would have already been sold. As much as I would like to have many tools I've resolved to only buy those that will get used.

Gotcha. jtk. As the kid said in Bronx Tale, " I thought I'd give it a shot". No problem some one will have the need. Take care. Tony

Out here in the west it seems every adze has been converted to garden use.

I had one of those years ago before I got back into woodworking. It was a relic I found in the ruins of an old timber framed barn. I converted it into an ice spud. It would chop a hole in the ice pretty quick. I'm sure every time I used it some old timber framer was rolling over in his grave.
Sharp solves all manner of problems.

OK Rob. Once again you helped me decide on a purchase. I’ll take the chisel. Just in case climate change happens in reverse and creates ice and snow in Florida I want to be prepared. Tony — I’ll have the chisel.

Sold pending payment. I suspect the chisel will get, after all, a continued good life of wood and fun. But hey make ice for drinks at a party maybe just what the doctor ordered

    Thanks Tony

Haven't used my great-grandfather's yet. I'll wait until next winter...
