    Universal Engraver problem

I have a Universal 40mW Engraver. It has been working fine until two days ago. I was able to move the laser on the Y axis fine. I went to move it on the X axis and it jumped about 1/2 inch and then stopped. I tried again to move it, but it was locked. I exited Lightburn and shutdown the engraver. I tried this a couple of times. after about the third time, I couldn't get it to move on the Y axis either. I assume this is a controller board problem. If so, I'm looking for a 3 axis board compatible with Lightburn, Grbl, and win 11. Any advice?

Check the belts and check for pulley that the setscrew holding to the shaft has loosened. Next broken wires in the bundle going to the motors. Kev can tell you his stories and its happed to me just once, wires flex in the same spot and will break under the insulation.

In addition to Bill's tips, take a hard look at the x axis bearings. Years back I had this issue on my Universal.
