Maintain your track saw track

After having someone help me cut up 6 sheets of MDF for cabinet doors, it was pointed out to me that the rubber edge (splinter guard) on my tracks was worn so it no longer offered the zero clearance fit intended. Worn by almost 1/16". I was amazed how easy it was to change out the rubber strip. I have a Grizzly track, but generic strips work fine. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Q39MJHP...roduct_details

This is good advice. A worn sacrificial splinter strip not only can degrade the quality of the cut, it can make it harder or impossible to do accurate cutting, too. But along the same lines, it's important that the blade on the saw also be maintained and kept sharp for the same reason...and a dull or damaged blade can potentially affect the splinter guard. These things are all interrelated!
