Any business, or individual, should obviously figure out what works for them. I use Microsoft Office tools exclusively at work, and the improvements since Office 2000 are incredibly valuable, for a work environment. The integration across OneDrive - Office - Teams still needs a little work, but it's actually pretty darned good. The capabilities of Excel that I use at work but which aren't in the older versions can be game changing.

But my wife and I use Google's free suite of tools at home, and they do everything we need. What I would not want to do is to go back to a set of tools that are not integrated around a cloud storage concept. With Google's tools (or with Office 365 if that's your thing), everything is accessible, and works, regardless of where I am or what device I'm using. My wife goes between a Windows laptop, and iPad, and her Android phone with zero hickups (well, not quite zero - anything on Apple eventually bites you in the behind, when you're not entirely on Apple), and no worries about which device she last used. I go between multiple laptops, tablets and a phone the same. Really quite liberating.

Its a Microsoft world, we just live in it. So I just pay the annual fee. I use it a lot.

At my work, we switched to Google and after a year we went back to MS Office. Mainly because it's too simple, and we had to convert to word and excel all the time. I also found it veeery slow. We got our MS Office pack from this website www. nerdused. com/products/microsoft-office-home-business-for-mac-2021-lifetime-license, that includes permanent updates and 24/7 support and it's perfect, no complaints.
