Shelf strength calculator I found interesting

I was googling for some shelf length/strength for a shelf in my pantry and came across this.

Really good... I was sleepless trying to figure out how to dimension my sucupira shelves! I figured I'd have to go to kaneelhart. Maybe even with a yellow meranti edge strip.

OK, in all seriousness, it really is very good.

I've used it for many years. Don't build any shelves, benches or beams without it.

Thank you - was able to quell my concerns on a current build. Nice, handy utility!

There are some very handy calculators out there. I probably read about the sagulator here on SMC or another forum, and the name stuck with me ever since. I use it several times a year.

There is a beam calculator on the forestry/timber framing forum that is also helpful for construction purposes.
