    Amish made Timber Buddy Sawmill

Anyone heard of this Bandsaw Sawmill ? It says it can cut 7000 Bd Ft per day. What I am wondering, is how many bandsaw blade changes you would have to make in an 8 hour day; assuming you don't hit any nails.

Wheels are pretty small on it.

Baker makes some nice larger mills. This one has 16" wheels. It uses 0.035" blades wo that's how they get away with the smaller wheels. It can still handle a 28" diameter log, which is pretty good for most people.

For less money you could buy a Woodland Mills HM126 with a 14 HP Kohler engine and 19" wheels.

Also depends on if there is any dirt or embedded gravel on the bark. Some band mills use a carbide cutter in front of the band to remove the bark. A big commercial mill I know debarks the entire log before sawing.

  6. If you're looking for some other big Amish mills have you seen the Trucut ones out of Kentucky? They have a 70" and a 96" wide. Things are massive.
