    Farrier's Plane

This hoof rasp is about 2" wide and has really aggressive teeth on the other side. A normal file handle just wasn't good enough to power thru much wood. This plane style handle makes a whole new tool out of it. My drawer fronts project about 1/16" past the sides to ensure that they are not left short. This tool makes short work of the cleanup.

    Neat design Tom.

Do you have any pictures of the construction? Specifically how you secured the rasp to the handle? What type of rasp is that?

    Thanks for sharing!

The rasp is just clamped between two pieces of wood screwed together. The big piece has a mortise just a little shallower than the thickness of the rasp.

I have used it upside down when I wanted a fine cut.

Oh interesting. I had assumed that the tang was bent 90˚.
