Two Eggbeater Drills – Cleaned, Lubricated, and Works Well

For sale are two eggbeater drills, labeled #1 and #2 in the photos.
This post will describe drill #1, and a follow-up post will describe drill #2

Drill #1 – No manufacturer name

This is a no-frills eggbeater drill. It has been cleaned and lubricated. The main drive hub is cast aluminum with “Made in USA” cast in, and has most of the red paint flaked off. Some of the plating is worn off of the central tube. The rear handle unscrews to access a compartment to hold bits (sorry, no bits included). Not a beautiful example of an eggbeater drill, but it works fine. Note the rear handle has 2 hairline cracks – thin CA glue was applied to those cracks and allowed to seep in – should be stable and secure now (see last photo).

Drill #2 – Stanley Defiance #1220 with 6 drill bits

This Stanley Defiance drill works well, includes 6 of the old-style drill bits in the handle compartment, and looks fairly good. The main drive hub is cast iron and still retains the Defiance decal.
