    Lee Valley sanding drum

I have a Lee Valley sanding drum for use in my drill press. I also purchased some extra sanding sleeves. After loosen the nut at the bottom of the drum it is still very difficult to pull off the sanding sleeve off the rubber drum and put another grit on. Anybody have a similar issue? Any solutions?

Loosen the nut more than you think you need to, and then put the drum on a flat surface and roll it back and forth under your palm with a fair amount of pressure. That will smush* the drum a bit and allow you to get the sleeve off/on.

I've not heard of the 'smushing' technique before ... I'll have-to try-it next occasion. The most recommended and one that I've used: put-it in the freezer for a couple hours.
