Thanks Jim. I'm definately interested and will clear the day with SWMBO tonight, then we'll coordinate. Will there be enough room in the truck if I want to bring some sticks home?

    Hey Jim
As long as you aren't planning on any of those 14'ers we should be OK. With the tail gate down it's 7.5' so most boards are fine.

I don't need a ton of stuff, just thought I'd pick up some interesting 8/4 boards of various stuff. I promise to keep it to a minimum

I'll plan to be at the lunch. Depending on my schedule, I will try and go back (home) to the Johnson's tour.

For those who are not aware you can PM me with details on how to utilize the SEMIWW group discount.

This will give you price level 4 (best pricing) on wood and plywood (the level just below bunk)

Also are account give you 15% off of the "store boards", which IMHO is heck of a deal considering some of the nice figured stuff they have in stock.

Also anyone is free to store their lumber purchases in my shop. I'll also store machinery for free as well

John, I think I can explain this one. As a building contractor I call the local lumber yard to get a "bunk of osb" that means the lumber yard takes it off the supply truck and puts it directly on my truck, which I take to the jobsite. It is a big savings to us that use a lot of a certain product.

A bunk of osb may be 256 sheets. If I need 220 to build a house, I will order a bunk and take advantage of the savings...after all, I can use the remaining sheets on the next house. So the same reasoning at Johnsons, if they can sell an unopened "bunk" of material and not have to handle, store, etc. they can give you a good deal. So a level 4 is just below bunk pricing...since I am a frequent buyer at Johnsons, I still am only at a level 2, so being a member of SEMWW (South east michigan wood workers) I am able to get a BIG discount on materials. ( I use the level 4 even though my business is a level 2)...an offer that Brad has extended to anyone wishing to use that discount...which is a helluva an offer for you guys to take advantage of....way to go Brad!

I've got it on my calender. My wife will be spending her birthday at the spa, so as long as I get back to escort her to dinner I've got the whole day for myself. It sounds like I'll have to bring the truck!

    Chris,

Good to hear you're going to be there, although I'm a little concerned for your safety if you don't get back on time. We'll have to keep an eye on you and provide a designated driver if need be.

No need for a DD. I gave that stuff almost 20 years ago! I' m only about 2 hours away so it shouldn't be much of a problem (if I leave my credit cards at home).
