Greetings,
All I have to say is - wow - at the price of new woodworking machines!!!!
Now, back to working on the kitchen table projects. Base and stretcher is done, sanding has started on the top of the table top.......working on sanding the bottom side of the table top now. 41" wide by 93" long by 1.75" thick....solid white oak. It's heavy!

'Glad you're making stuff in your shop, Dennis!

This past week was, of course, more work on the new shop building including getting part of the mini split installation completed as well as getting the speakers up where they need to live, some cleanup of debris in prep for drywall that comes next and cleaning up the stone border around the building. If I'm truly lucky, I may be able to get the drywall going as soon as later in the week, but I have to count my pennies.

Dennis, what have you been window shopping for? I've been wanting a new bandsaw and to add a lathe to the shop, but having seen the prices recently I've become much happier with my undersized and underpowered bandsaw.

More work on the Lurem C210b restoration. Started building kazoos for the family holiday retreat. Could be noisy again this year.

Made some lemon poppy seed muffins for widows and other friends. Raked and mulched up leaves on front lawn. Mowed down day lilies and placed mulch on them for the winter. Replaced starter on car that our daughter drives. Reman starter was almost $50 cheaper than new, and both carry a "lifetime warranty," so we went with the reman. Took a little over an hour, laying on my back in driveway to do job. Local shop wanted cost of starter, plus $250 for labor. $250 bucks for a job that laying on my back took just a little over an hour. With car up on lift, it would have been a 30 minute (at most) job. Highway robbery! Thursday, at church, had a Veteran's Day luncheon. This was same time as senior luncheon at town hall, for which I always make the tea, so had to make tea early drop it off and scoot over to church. Brought can opener at church kitchen home, cleaned it (YUK!,) derusted it using battery charger, and then treated it with phosphoric acid to convert any remaining rust to iron phosphate. Looks almost like new. Sharpened the blade while I had it off of it. Worked on cleaning up "junk" in front of shop. Ripped a couple boards down for neighbor. As usual, attended church on Sunday.

I made a couple pre-Christmas gifts on the cnc. QSWO & ambrosia maple.

Dovetail box, made mostly from some mahogany 2x2 scrap from a firewood box. I have copper rivets, but none long enough to attach the leather handles, so on order.

Prototype for xmas gift potted plant trivets, from Ipe scrap. Need to rig a router jig for the half lap joints.
