Biscuits needed for Strength here? 70” console table

My plans for a waterfall (mitered) edge went south. I couldn’t joint the 12ft board in order to get be a 70” top and two 26” legs.

Plan B: I still want to do a mitered joint.

I need to laminate these boards (sapele and I think bubinga or paduak). If my span is 70”, will glue be enough? The top is 13.5” wide.

Was curious if biscuits or something are needed.

Glue is enough. If you have some twist the biscuits will help alignment. Did you try to joint the full 12’ length or cut to about 1”’ oversize then joint.

Strength-wise biscuits are not needed. Long grain glue joints are extremely strong. However, I would still highly recommend using them to keep long boards aligned during glue up.
