    Japanese Chisels

I have a set of Japanese chisels, received as a retirement gift, purchased from Stan Covington a year ago. I have other chisels, reluctantly don't need these, and could use the money for another more needed tool.

Three sets of chisels original cost was right at $2,900 including taxes, duties, fees, and shipping. For sale for $2,100. Brand new, never used. They are very nice.

    1. Atsunomi Chisel Sukemaru Brand. Hand-forged from Hitachi Yasugi Shirogami No. 1 Steel. Japanese White Oak Handle. Standard black steel hoop. Sizes 18, 24, 30, 36, and 42mm.

For what it’s worth, I have a number of chisels from Stan Covington and they’re all superb. They take a wonderfully sharp edge and hold it well without any tendency to chip, and then are quick and easy to resharpen. I don’t need more (or at least I’ll keep telling myself that) or I’d be tempted.

    Thanks Michael.

You sure you don't need a set of paring chisels?

Yes, I’m sure, though I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted.
