Sliding Table Saw Setup

I am picking up my new Minimax SC3 Slider this week, and am curious how most people opt to have the sliding table set. Do you keep it slightly above the cast iron, or lower it so that it is in line with it? I plan to do both ripping with the fence and crosscutting with the outrigger and dont want to have the table slightly raised be an issue.

Some say this and some say that. I prefer to keep the tables in plane, but the carriage should be at least as high as the main table throughout its stroke and no more than a few thousandths higher. some slide up to the blade others have table top like my SCM. im not sure how much table there maybe 10" can check Before you go chasing tolerances see if your table top is flat. mine 30 years use was not, no point talking thou when the top is not flat.

I leave it the way it's manufactured...the wagon is a "proverbial hair" higher than the cast iron table. It's never affected the quality of cutting in all the years I've been using a slider. One REALLY important thing...pay attention to the instructions when putting the fence rail on the machine. Do NOT loosen the indicated nuts. I made that mistake with my first slider and it was a bear to fix. Otherwise setup is pretty darn easy.

And as an aside, I can't wait to actually use my own brand new SC3C which is still on the pallet in the temporary gara-shop until I have the new shop building ready to go.
