    Makita RT0701C Depth Lock

Does anyone with a Makita RT0701C (corded palm router) have any issues with changing depth of cut? How did you solve it? Would you just tighten the locking nut on the locking lever?

The Makita locking mechanism looks similar to an older Bosch Colt I have that developed the same problem. I did exactly as you suggested, tightened the nut so locking it was quite stiff, problem solved. That router is used solely for hinge mortises so the depth is seldom changed.

I have the Makita - both corded and cordless.
So far, I haven't had any issues, but, I believe you're correct about just tweaking the nut.

Makita really didn't put a lot of thought/effort into the fixed base of their trim router. (I also have the DeWalt 611PK & it just blows away the Makita.)
The plunge base for the Makita looks like it was thought out a lot better & it's on the same level as the DeWalt.
