Has anyone ever turned calligraphy pens?

Not the fountain pen or the straight dip pens but the offset calligraphy pens made for right and left hand writers? Yoke pen Company has some of the hardware but I don't see how you mount the flange that holds the tip of the pen. Maybe cut a slot? Just wondering if anyone has experience with these? Thanks.

Here is a close up view of an Etsy seller. Looks like they use a homemade copper holder, soldered to a bead, that is press fit on the wood. Maybe a drop of CA goes on the bead to wood joint?

Thank you. That gives some clarity on the subject.
