    Trailer hookup update

Some ideas and experiences about hooking up a trailer were discussed in another thread: https://sawmillcreek.org/showthread....railer-hook-up
The solutions were interesting but for my situation I decided adding a camera would be best.

I bought an inexpensive backup camera on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071D5CN9D) and bent a length of metal strap to make a bracket with magnets to stick to the surface of the tailgate. Hooks up in a heartbeat. Wow, what an improvement!

Easily adjusted further by bending the bracket.

Good choice, John. I've been pretty blessed that all three vehicles I've owned since buying my trailer have had OEM backup cameras and all of them have had a clear view of the ball. As you've found out, that can make for "one shot" hook-ups.

I did something similar, but bought an Android head unit, since I've got an old car from 2006. The head unit works for the backup camera screen, which saves me money, and the android head unit is just cool overall. Best part is I don't need to buy another car for at least another 100K, which is a huge savings.
