Hi, I'm new to using a sprayer. I've been struggling with getting a good finish with Cabinet Coat. I was using a 1.8 needle with 30 second viscosity w/ Ford cup which was good but not great. If I went thicker there was orange peel and poor atomization. Tried Floetrol and it did not mix well with the Cabinet Coat. Bought some XIM and wow what a difference. The atomization was so much better. It went so well with the 1.8 I decided to try the 1.5 which gave me an even better finish. This morning I put on the final coat but accidentally grabbed the wrong needle (1.8 needle with the 1.5 nozzle) and sprayed. The gun didn't act weird other than a tiny bit of catching in the trigger. In some respects it looks even better. The surface in much more uniform. How did that happen and can I damage the needle and nozzle by using it this way?
