RDLC320-A newer RDCAM/Laserwork/RDWorks that works with CorelDraw and machine

We have CorelDraw X5 and RDCam 5 but now the machine is going to someone else who has CorelDraw version 24. I tried a few versions of RDWorks 8 and those were able to import a file saved as AI Illustrator version 8 from CorelDraw version 24, whereas RDCam 5 could not import this, only the same file type saved from CorelDraw X5.

However, RDWorks 8 will not communicate with the machine where RDCam 5 and a Lightburn trial do. Despite installing USB drivers and confirming serial port, and changing the machine selection to 320 or RDLC320.

Is anyone aware of an RDWorks 8 that will communicate with RDLC320-A? If that is possible, we'll get to the plug in later, but trying to install that in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps where CorelDraw was located had security issues to work through.

Lightburn does look great and might then not need CorelDraw at all, but want to be able to load lots of old .rld files too.

When properly installed, you can jump from Corel straight into RD works via the toolbar icon - BUT I don't.
I prefer to export or save a file as AI version 3... that's the lowest common denominator, and then import that into RD works.
I can also import it into Enroute or other programs I use on other machines, so it's a habit to always send as AIv3
And save the CDR file.

I'm not familiar with the LC320-A, and like you I use Corel X5, and also X3. I tried 2019, but went back to the older versions- I just work more efficiently with them.

(sorry I can't help you with the LC320, I just use the RD6442 G & S, and RDW 8.30, and Corel X3 & X5.
Old habits die hard and I'm not keen on upgrades & learning much new stuff! )
